George A. Williams
“I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to be my Lord and Savior. I challenge myself to live my life with the understanding that God’s glory is my priority.”
As a little boy, I remember watching two spiritual giants in my life, my Mother and her Father. My Grandfather was our Pastor, and I remember him being bigger than life. My young eyes saw how he loved people. Without knowing it at the time, he was a living witness of the love of Jesus Christ. I wanted what he had, and with the assistance of my Mother, I was led to receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was eight years old.
My life, since then, has been a building block of my faith in Jesus. I lived much of my early life trying to understand my calling and purpose. Then I realized I wasn’t viewing what I was trying to understand in the correct way. Instead of my life representing “my purpose” in living, I began to understand that my living should be based on “God’s purpose” for me in this life.
My world spiritually exploded in a powerful, positive way. I fully accepted God’s revelation about the direction of my life, to live for Him and not me. My whole life has been challenging and rewarding as Jesus has guided me through college ROTC training, becoming a husband and father of four daughters, military service, pastoral ordination, a successful secular career, and now volunteer ministry at the best Church, under the best Pastors I’ve ever had.
In 1985, as a social-actions officer in the Air Force, I verified a harassment complaint and refused to soften the report. It cost me a promotion track and a coveted assignment. I have never regretted it. Some things are worth more than the next rank.
In October 2024, my HR director role was eliminated in an acquisition. Driving home, the word I kept hearing was “purposeful,” the same word at the center of a research paper I had written four years earlier about reaching a generation in crisis. I took it as my assignment. FaithForward Coaching is the result.
“The Holy Spirit has helped me to know that my living is not in vain. I have come to know that it is not about me, but all about Jesus.”
